Not long ago, I received a customer's inquiry: "Is your Standard PLA filament tough? Will it break easily?"
The customer said that he recently found a leaf spring catapult model on the Internet, which was super cleverly designed. The catapult model is composed entirely of 3D-printed parts, and there is no need to purchase additional screws, springs, and other parts. It mainly relies on the force generated by the elastic deformation of two curved parts to throw objects.
The toughness of the material must be high precisely because the curved parts need to be bent many times. The customer had previously printed several catapults with other brands of PLA filaments, but the printing results were not satisfactory. Either the curved parts were easily broken, or the curved parts could not generate enough force to throw the stones a long distance.
Later, the customer asked the group members in the 3D printing exchange group: Do you have any recommendations for PLA filaments with good toughness? Several group members recommended our Standard PLA to him, and then the customer contacted us.
NextShapes Standard PLA filament has good hot melt properties, and the adhesion between the molten PLA filament layers is strong, which reduces the possibility of interlayer peeling and ensures the toughness and strength of the model. In addition, NextShapes also uses an advanced wire diameter tester to control the wire diameter tolerance of Standard PLA within 1.75±0.02mm, effectively avoiding strength problems caused by uneven material extrusion.
After receiving the customer's consultation, we told him that many customers reported that the toughness of Standard PLA filament is good, and suggested that he purchase a few filaments to try it out. The customer also followed our advice.
A few days later, we asked the customer about his experience. He said that he was very satisfied with the toughness of Standard PLA and would recommend our filament to his friends in the future.
Excellent design must be matched with excellent materials to create satisfactory works. NextShapes focuses on the research and development of high-quality materials for 3D printing, helping every designer realize his creativity. In the future, NextShapes will continue to walk firmly on this road of innovation.
