Raise3D Filament Dry Box includes silica gel desiccant to absorb the moisture from the air. If you don't open the Filament Dry Box frequently, the desiccant can keep the humidity of the filaments below 25% within a month. It is recommended to replace the desiccant every month. Or you can put the desiccant into the microwave oven for 3-5 minutes to restore its drying ability. It is not recommended to use other kinds of desiccants.

A: When printing PA12 CF+ with the E2CF, Magigoo PA glue is recommended to increase plate adhesion. First, preview the GCODE file of ideaMaker to locate the printing area on the build plate. Then spread glue on the area. Refer to this guide when applying Magigoo PA. Freshly applied glue on a plate can last for several rounds of printing.

A: Filament slicing templates for the E2CF on ideaMaker version 4.2.1 or later. Use ideaMaker 4.2.1 or a later version to apply the Raise3D official templates to the E2CF. With the default configuration in ideaMaker 4.2.1, there are only slicing templates of PA12 CF+ and PA12 CF Support for the E2CF. When selecting other filament slicing templates, users cannot execute editing or slicing.

A: The E2 can print with carbon fiber filament, however, the performance is limited, and the components will wear out quicker. This is due to highly abrasive nature of the carbon fiber filament. Essentially, the original E2 is not designed for this type of use. In comparison, the E2CF has been designed to be optimized for fiber-reinforced filaments, resulting in a printing experience that will be stable and will perform consistently in the long term.

A: For successful printing, a few preparations are suggested as follows:

First, due to water absorption characteristics, PA12 CF+ and PA12 CF support filament will absorb moisture when exposed to the air. It is critical to dry filaments before printing. One method of drying filaments is to dry them in the oven at 80℃ for at least 6 hours. For filaments stored in a dry environment, an experienced user can dry filaments according to the actual filament condition.

Secondly, during printing, filaments should be set in a Raise3D Dry Box to prevent exposure to the air.

Thirdly, before feeding filament, straighten the end of filament as much as possible, in order to feed filament through the run-out sensor smoothly.

Last but not least, before printing begins, spread Magigoo PA glue over the build surface for additional adhesion. If the glue has been previously applied, the user can decide whether or not to apply the glue again based on the remaining adhesion on the surface.

Raise3D Industrial PA12 CF+ and Raise3D Industrial PA12 CF Support filaments are hydrophilic, meaning they easily absorb moisture in the air after long-term exposure, resulting in jamming or serious wire drawing problems. Here are some notes on drying and storage of PA12CF+ and PA12CF support filament.

1.Before printing, you should dry the filaments in the drying baker at 80℃for 8 hours.

2. In the printing process, the filaments should be placed in the Filament Dry Box.

Note: Raise3D filaments dry box contains silica gel desiccants (100g/pack) to absorb moisture from the air. If you do not often open the dry box, the desiccant can keep the humidity in the dry box below 25% for a month. If the weight of a single packet of desiccant is greater than 110g/ packet, you can put the desiccant into the microwave oven for 3-5 minutes to restore its drying ability. It is recommended to replace the desiccant once a month. Alternatively, put the desiccant into the microwave oven for 3-5 minutes to restore its drying ability.

3.Filament that is not used for a long time can be temporarily stored in the dry box. Before the next use, you should dry the filaments in the drying baker at 80℃for 8 hours.
